Every spring, the PVMA conducts a series of 3-4 hour workshops on describing fungi, mushroom identification, edibility/toxicity, medicinal fungi, characteristics of various genera and species, associated habitat and tree associations, cooking, citizen science, the functional roles of fungi, and other topics. These take place on Sundays in March, April and May between 9:45 AM and 1:30 PM at Dianna Smith's home in Leeds (Northampton), MA - before the collecting season begins. If you want to jump-start and/or radically improve your understanding of our connections with the world of fungi, you will want to take this unique opportunity to expand your knowledge and appreciation of these important organisms. To keep the price within everyone’s means, we are charging just enough to cover the costs of giving our deserving guest speakers a fair honorarium in return for sharing their wisdom and passion for fungi with us.

There is limited space available for this popular fungal educational offering, and it always fills to capacity and beyond. To avoid being put on a waiting list, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

You must be a current PVMA member to participate. If you are not a current member, first sign up and pay for membership at the Membership page, then register and pay here separately for the workshop series. The cost for the workshops is just $85 for all six sessions.You can pay by credit card or PayPal via the link below. If you prefer to pay by check, print and fill out the Fungi Kingdom University registration form and send your check made out to PVMA to Membership Chair and Treasurer, Michael Ostrowski, 27 East Street, South Hadley MA 01075.

For current members, online registration for the workshop series is a two-step process. First, pay the registration fee through the PayPal link below (you can use this link to pay by credit card or your PayPal account). Then fill out the registration form and submit. YOU MUST DO BOTH BEFORE YOUR REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE.
